City of Calgary Real Estate & Development Services provides a range of services including leasing or licensing City properties. Current listings and licensing opportunities are available on this page.

If you’re interested in leasing or licensing a City property that isn’t currently listed, please complete the Property Leasing Inquiry form below.

  • For external parties (citizens or businesses), click here to fill out and submit your inquiry.
    Note: To complete this form, all external parties are required to sign into their myID account for authentication purposes.
    If you are creating a new Personal or Business account, please note that you can log into the Lease Intakes portal immediately. However, access to the request page to submit a new lease intake may take up to 15 minutes.
  • ​​For internal parties (City Business Units), click Sign-In at the top-right corner of the screen and click City Staff to submit your inquiry.

Your inquiry will be processed as follows: 

  1. Confirmation Email: After submitting the Property Leasing Inquiry form, requestors will receive a confirmation email with a reference ID. Please use this reference ID number for future communication regarding the lease inquiry.
  2. Follow-up: A representative from Real Estate & Development Services may contact the requestor if additional information or clarification is required.
  3. Property Circulation: The property will be circulated among City departments to ensure there is no current municipal need for it.
  4. ​​Property Valuation: The fair market value of the property will be determined based on highest and best use, comparable land sales/rates, and approved by the City's Valuation Review Committee.
  5. ​​Negotiation: Negotiations between The City and your representative will occur. Once negotiations are finalized, you will need to sign a proposal letter and return it to The City along with a security deposit.
  6. Credit Check: You must submit a Commercial Leasing Form to verify your financial qualifications.
  7. Approval: The lease will be approved by the City of Calgary’s approving authority as specified by the Real Property Bylaw.
  8. ​​Execution: Your lease agreement will be executed.
