How to make a request
Looking for a property that’s not listed?
If you want to lease or use a City property that isn’t listed right now, CLICK HERE to sign in and complete the Property Leasing Inquiry form.
What happens next
Here’s what will happen after you send your request:

- Confirmation Email: After you send the Property Leasing Inquiry form, you’ll get a confirmation email with a reference number. Use this number if you need to talk to someone about your request later.
- Follow-up: Someone from Real Estate & Development Services might contact you if they need more details or have questions about your request.
- Property Review: The City will check with its departments to make sure the property isn’t needed for City use right now.
- Property Valuation: The City will figure out the fair market value of the property by looking at how it could best be used and comparing it to similar properties. The Valuation Review Committee will approve the final amount.
- Negotiation: You and your representative will work with The City to agree on the terms. Once everything is decided, your representative will need to sign a proposal letter and send it back to the City with a security deposit.
- Credit Check: You must fill out a Commercial Leasing Form to show that you meet the financial requirements.
- Approval: The City of Calgary’s approval team will review and approve the lease, following the rules in the Real Property Bylaw.
- Execution: Your lease agreement will be signed and made official.
